Despite the legal protection that shields pregnant and breastfeeding women from immigration operations, Natacha, Merteliz, and Madochenie were taken to the Belladiere-Elias Pina border point, like hundreds of other women, without considering their condition, without exhausting prior procedure, and without valuing their ties, as part of migration control measures focused on women that the Dominican government has implemented since September.

The protagonists of the documentary report, prepared by journalist and producer Tony Pichardo, recount the situation faced by working mothers, the uncertainty created by imminent deliveries, the anguish caused by separation from children who remained in Santo Domingo, and husbands searching for partners who did not return home. The audiovisual also reflects the solidarity and sisterhood of Dominican women who have taken care of the infants. This production belongs to the Dignified Treatment Project, a three-year initiative that monitors respect for the rights of migrants and compliance with due process in deportations in the border area.
