Paperless People: Denied Identity, Citizenship Stripped in the Dominican Republic

OBMICA collaborated with the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI) in the production of podcasts focused on testimonies and stories of people on different continents where statelessness affects significant groups of people.

The series is called Paperless People, and OBMICA worked specifically on �Denied Identity, Citizenship Stripped in the Dominican Republic,� telling the story of Yamilef Lois and Isidro Berique, two young Dominicans of Haitian descent affected by Constitutional Court Judgment 168/13 and by the consequences it has had on their respective lives.

This is a new collaboration between OBMICA and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion (ISI). OBMICA prepared a chapter on the Dominican reality for The World's Stateless, a report published by ISI in 2017 that recounts the situation of millions of boys and girls living in statelessness around the world.
