This research seeks to generate greater knowledge about children and adolescents who regularly cross from Haiti into the Dominican Republic, including their conditions, motivations, risks, and the care and protection they receive. It is a mixed-methods study that combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies in the collection and processing of data related to children and adolescents on the move from Haiti.
The study analyzes information campaigns, awareness-raising efforts and cooperation agreements; identification and referral processes to institutions responsible for protection; care, shelter and protection processes; and relocation, family reunification, and repatriation. The research team was composed of Bridget Wooding, Liliana Degiorgis, and Ivrance Martine.
