Trato Digno - New Challenges for Due Process in Deportations from the Dominican Republic
This book offers an overview of deportations based on three years of field experience on the southern border led by the Center for Sustainable Development (CEDESO), in the context of increasingly restrictive migration policies. It is aimed at migrant rights defenders and public authorities involved in deportation processes and provides a snapshot of the situation at the end of 2022, together with recommendations to strengthen due process and good practices.
This book seeks to provide an overview of deportations based on three years of field experience on the southern border, led by the Center for Sustainable Development (CEDESO), in the context of recent, more restrictive migration policies.
It is aimed at defenders of migrants' rights and official bodies involved in these processes and seeks to provide a snapshot of the situation at the end of 2022 through support to the people who are affected: men, women, boys, girls, and adolescents. In addition to pointing out regulatory and procedural inconsistencies that could serve as a basis for relevant policy dialogue, the book sets out recommendations to further promote good practices already underway in this area.
