The volume is a compendium of two studies related to trafficking and the Dominican Republic: a qualitative study report on trafficking victims prepared by Tahira Vargas Garcia for the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and a qualitative study report on the trafficking of Haitian women in the Dominican Republic after the earthquake in Haiti, prepared by OBMICA for IOM.
These two studies are certain to provoke debate and discussion as they uphold the rights of some of the island's most vulnerable migrants: women who leave, women who arrive, and women who are returned.
