Written by Natalia Riveros, this second report continues the annual balance launched by OBMICA the previous year in fulfillment of its mission to compile useful and accessible analytical information for people and institutions interested in migration in the era of globalization. In this edition, particular attention is given to migration dynamics across the Caribbean archipelago, while also maintaining the necessary focus on human mobility from and within the island of Hispaniola, shared by Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
As is well known, the Caribbean remains a region of high human mobility, although the mechanisms needed to facilitate good governance of these movements are still under development.
