Launch of the MigraSalud project. On March 17, 2023, the launch of MigraSalud: Protecting the right to health from the local to the national level in the Dominican Republic took place at the Sheraton Hotel. This project promotes access to quality medical services for the most vulnerable groups in the country through active participation, advocacy for the right to health, and evidence-based knowledge building.

Women in Network. Launch of the project Women in Network with representatives of Spanish cooperation, the Dominican government, and Dominican civil society.

Sustainable Development of the Dominican-Haitian Border: current situation and future perspectives. There is a need to foster greater collaboration at the binational level and to develop comprehensive development strategies that improve livelihoods, binational trade, access to basic services, and sustainable border development.

Editorial. The Dominican Republic, like about one quarter of the countries in the world, is a significant host country for migrants who arrive or transit through its territory, but it is also a country of emigration. Migration, trafficking, and migrant smuggling are separate but interrelated issues.

In response to the deaths in migration detention in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico: statement of March 29. OBMICA is a member of the CLACSO South-South Migrations and Borders Working Group and endorses the statement published by the group on March 29.

MEET JORGEN SORLIE YRI. Associate professor at OsloMet and the University of Ostfold in Norway. He has written his master's thesis and doctorate on different aspects of Dominican-Haitian binational relations.

New resource available - Triggering Perspectives: Human Mobility. On March 9, the book Triggering Perspectives: Building Knowledge for Equality (volume 6) was launched. Edited by the Center for Gender Studies of INTEC and supported by UNHCR, the book contains 10 essays on human mobility, offering a gender perspective on the challenges and inequalities of new migration contexts, trafficking, nationality, and refuge in the Dominican Republic.
