A Binational Workshop on Dominican Legislation and Its Implementation Takes Place in Belladere
July 13, 2018.- A binational workshop on the situation of beneficiaries of Law 169-14 and the Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE) in the Dominican Republic took place on April 26 and 27, 2018, with the participation of Dominican and Haitian organizations, in Belladere, Haiti.

The meeting, organized by the Support Group for Repatriates and Refugees (GARR) and the Centre for Migration Observation and Social Development in the Caribbean (OBMICA), showed the complexities of both the law and the PNRE. GARR representatives stated that "the nightmare of deportation not only affects the reality of Haitians in irregular status in the Dominican Republic, but also affects Dominican citizens."
Representatives of organizations working on the border, Haitian local authorities, representatives of public institutions, and journalists from local and national Haitian media took part in the meeting.
