Public Presentation of OBMICA's 2017 Yearbook within FLACSO's Inequality and Power Forum: "Migration From and To the Dominican Republic"

January 31, 2019.- Within the framework of the eighteenth Inequality and Power Forum, organized by FLACSO Dominican Republic Program under the title "Migration From and To the Dominican Republic," OBMICA will present the 2017 edition of its State of Migration concerning the Dominican Republic (EDM) this Thursday, February 7.

The event, which will take place at the headquarters of FLACSO-RD, will be led by director Bridget Wooding, accompanied by Gina Gallardo, from the National School of Migration, and two of the authors of EDM2017, the well-known sociologists Rafael Antonio Duran and Juan Montero.

This forum will address issues deriving from the emigration of Dominican women and men and from the dynamics of immigration affecting the country. Trends in the insular Caribbean with respect to migration, environment, and climate change will also be analyzed.
