Opportunity: CEDESO and OBMICA Seek Consultant to Produce a Video Report

The Migration Observatory and Social Development in the Caribbean (OBMICA), together with the Center for Sustainable Development (CEDESO), is currently implementing the Trato Digno project, a three-year initiative that seeks to prevent arbitrary detention and/or deportation of migrants and their descendants.

In this context, OBMICA is calling on eligible applicants - filmmakers, videographers, documentary makers, social communicators, or other professionals in related fields with the required competencies - to submit proposals for the consultancy "Production of a video report on the work of the Trato Digno project." Through the stories of grassroots promoters, the report should document the process of detention and deportation in the Dominican Republic and briefly communicate the improvements the project seeks to promote. The audiovisual piece should be between 15 and 20 minutes long.

Without these being exclusionary requirements, it is suggested that the applicant or, where applicable, the members of the proposing team possess the following competencies.

• Professional background in social communication and/or audiovisual media (television, film, social platforms).
• Experience in producing documentaries and/or small- or medium-format reports.
• Strong capacity for synthesis.
• Sensitivity to migration issues.
• Familiarity with migration, detention, and deportation issues in the Dominican Republic and the ability to build a narrative and audiovisual thread from a human-rights perspective.
