OBMICA and Civil Society Organizations Hold Dialogue with the Directorate General for Immigration Affairs of the General Directorate of Migration

On February 15, 2018, a meeting was held with officials from the Directorate General for Immigration Affairs of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), organized by OBMICA as part of the dialogue and dissemination activities around the Yearbook State of Migration 2016, published in 2017.

On February 15, 2018, a meeting was held with officials from the Directorate General for Immigration Affairs of the General Directorate of Migration (DGM), organized by OBMICA as part of the dialogue and feedback activities surrounding the 2016 State of Migration Yearbook, published in 2017.

The meeting took place in the office of the Director for Immigration Affairs, General Rafael Nunez, with the presence of other staff members of the Directorate for Immigration Affairs, as well as OBMICA staff, the Scalabrinian Association in the Service of Human Mobility (ASCALA), and the Dominican@s por Derecho Platform.


During the activity, some of the most important migration trends gathered in the yearbook were highlighted (which OBMICA has published annually since 2011). The space was also used to exchange views on the importance of the current moment of documentation renewal and migration status change for people who applied to the National Plan for the Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE), as well as possible outcomes.
