OBMICA Launches the "State of Migration concerning the Dominican Republic" Portal

As a contribution for civil society, researchers, students, journalists, and decision-makers working on migration issues, the Centre for Migration Observation and Social Development in the Caribbean (OBMICA) launches the portal "State of Migration concerning the Dominican Republic".

Through the portal, OBMICA offers an updated and accurate perspective on the migration flows affecting the country, while also providing a general overview of migration in the Caribbean, and in some cases beyond. It is structured in five categories: Migration trends in the Caribbean, emigration, immigration, migration policies, and human rights.

It allows user-friendly navigation through the main chapters that make up the EDM by year, followed by a keyword search engine that facilitates locating data as well as downloading the publication.

This yearbook of migration statistics, now available in web version on the institutional portal obmica.org, is a piece of research, a publication, and a tangible result that best explains OBMICA's "research for action" working model.

As OBMICA's flagship publication, it tracks the evolution of migratory dynamics both in the insular Caribbean and at the binational scale between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, a task OBMICA has carried out since 2011 together with its associated researchers and collaborators.
