OBMICA in Dialogue with the National School of Migration

October 14, 2015. OBMICA was invited by the National School of Migration, attached to the National Migration Institute of the Dominican Republic, to speak about the importance of addressing migration in education during the first dialogue roundtable organized by that institution. Allison Petrozziello, OBMICA's Research and Programs Coordinator, introduced the migration phenomenon in the Dominican Republic.

OBMICA participated in a dialogue organized by the National School of Migration to discuss the importance of addressing migration within education. Allison Petrozziello presented an overview of migration in the Dominican Republic and stressed that the country is also shaped by emigration, not only immigration.

The intervention emphasized the need to include migration in school curricula, promote tolerance and diversity, and strengthen evidence-based public policy through deeper study and social dialogue.
