OBMICA Seeks Communications Officer

The Observatory for Caribbean Migrants and Social Development (OBMICA) invites professionals in social communication, journalism, and public relations to submit applications for the position of communications officer.

OBMICA is a think tank that advocates for the human rights of migrants and their families as a key to development, democratic consolidation, and inclusive citizenship. It hopes to recruit a professional committed to the organization's mission, with a strong work ethic and high motivation to achieve the objectives of the position.

The main functions of OBMICA's Communications Officer include developing and implementing communication and media-relations strategies, creating content for different channels, drafting reports and articles for advocacy, following up on collaborative relations with allied organizations and institutions, and overseeing the design and production of printed and digital materials to publicize the results of research and projects implemented by OBMICA.

The applicant must be a social communication professional with more than five years of work experience in the area in the Dominican Republic, command of journalistic writing techniques and spelling, as well as experience in media relations and social media management from an institutional perspective.
