"Human Rights: Free and Equal," Dialogue Hosted by MEPyD

The National Center for the Promotion and Support of Nonprofit Associations (CASFL) of the Ministry of Economy invited OBMICA to participate in one of its Permanent Dialogue spaces with Civil Society. It was a panel held on December 10 entitled "Human Rights: Free and Equal."

This virtual space was designed by CASFL to build capacities through debate and exchange of ideas with civil society. On this emblematic date, International Human Rights Day, the panel featured three women speakers. Guadalupe Valdez, FAO Special Ambassador for Zero Hunger, spoke about issues related to human rights in general in the Dominican context.

OBMICA focused its intervention on the rights framework applicable to detentions and deportations in the country. The final speaker, representing the health sector, gave a very relevant presentation referring to the pandemic from a rights-based perspective. Moderated by Francisco Henry, the event concluded with an interesting exchange session with more than 50 participants from different civil society organizations nationwide.
